Deep Dive
The 1976 Topps set expanded on the 1975 formula with a bigger roster and more caption variety. By this point, Marvel's Bronze Age expansion had been running for several years, and the sticker set reflects just how diverse the Marvel Universe had become.
The introduction of Howard the Duck is perhaps the most culturally loaded moment in this set. Howard had launched as a joke character in Fear #19 in 1973, but by 1976 he was a genuine phenomenon.
