Deep Dive
The 1980 French-Canadian sticker album belongs to a family of related Marvel sticker products that includes the 1978 Brazilian DimensΓ£o Cultural set and the 1980 Venezuelan Reyauca set. These albums share artwork sourced from a common Marvel licensing package distributed to regional publishers across Latin America and Canada in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The Brazilian edition (1978) is the earliest documented version; the French-Canadian and Venezuelan editions followed in 1980.
The French-Canadian album is one of the great underappreciated sets in vintage Marvel collecting β largely because most North American collectors simply didn't know it existed until decades later.
For researchers, the French-Canadian set is invaluable for establishing first card appearance dates for characters who wouldn't appear in mainstream US card products until the Comic Images sets of the late 1980s.
No first appearance / rookie cards documented for this set.
