Why This Set Matters
One of the rarest regional Marvel card products ever produced. Very few complete sets have survived. An important note for researchers: some character names in this set appear to have been translated back into English from the German FX Schmid version rather than using the original Marvel character names. This means certain character names may not match their standard English designations exactly.
Quartette is a European-style card game where players collect sets of four related cards. Mixing Monsters and Super Heroes in one deck was very on-brand for 1977 Marvel.

Deep Dive
The Davbar Monsters & Super Heroes Quartette represents a fascinating edge case in Marvel card history: a licensed product produced for a regional market that was largely invisible to the broader collecting world for decades.
For researchers trying to document the full history of Marvel's international licensing, the Davbar set is an important data point.
